Anthony Springall – Captain Ant – is a Scarborough born artist, cake maker, theremin player and instigator of collaborative happenings, including the ever-popular Yorkshire Beard Day. In Big Ideas By The Sea 2023 he conducted ‘Resonance’, a sound exploration of St Mary’s Church, and this year he will lead on something slightly similar, a semi-improvised celebration of ‘Paradise’. He has a studio on Scarborough West Pier and is a founder member of Cardboard Cyborg, a live electronic music collective.
